Description

Strelitzia Reginae, commonly known as Bird of Paradise, are grown for their exotic and unusual orange bird shaped flowers which emerge from boat shaped bracts. These are carried at the top of tall, erect, bluish green leaves up to 75cm long. Several flowers appear in succession as spring progresses. Holder of the prestigious RHS Award for Garden Merit. Supplied in a 9cm pot.

Suitable outdoors in summer but should be brought indoors over winter. Plant in any fertile well drained soil, preferably in moist soil. Suitable for planting in full sun or in partial shade.
