Ginkgo biloba, commonly known as ginkgo, also known as the maidenhair tree, and often misspelt “gingko” is a species of gymnosperm tree native to East Asia. It is the last living species in the order Ginkgoales, which first appeared over 290 million years ago.

Ginkgo biloba is an herbal supplement most commonly used for improving memory, enhancing blood circulation, and reducing symptoms of dementia. People also take it to help with ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and leg pain from poor blood flow.
