Description

Trailing petunia (Petunia hybrida pendula) belongs to the most popular plants used as balcony and terrace decoration. You should grow it in hanging containers, so the long, branched shoots may hang freely. This species is valued for the very long blooming period. The first blooms appear on the plants late in the spring and the next develop gradually until the first autumn frosts. Large, funnel-shaped flowers enchant with a rich colour palette. They may be white, blue, purple, pink or red. The subtle blooms densely cover the trailing shoots, making this petunia cultivar a perfect addition to all arrangements in hanging baskets and boxes.

Petunia seeds should be sown in early spring, even in February, in a heated, well-lit room. Petunia’s seeds are tiny, hence you should not cover them with soil. You should expect the emergence after 10 – 12 days. As soon as the risk of the last spring frosts is gone, seedlings may be transplanted outside. This species loves the sun and withstands heat and short-term droughts with flying colours. It prefers light and permeable soils that are moderately rich in nutrients. You need to make sure that the plants are regularly watered and fertilised in order to enjoy the spectacularly abundant blooming.

Each package contains 0.1 g of trailing petunia varieties’ seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
